Why Go Tankless?

Tankless is sized by flow rate (GPM) at a required temperature rise (ΔT).

  1. Add your simultaneous fixtures

    • Shower ≈ 2.0 GPM (modern head)

    • Sink ≈ 1.0 GPM

    • Washer ≈ 2.0–2.5 GPM

  2. Estimate ΔT

    • GTA winter inlet water can be cold, so ΔT to 120°F / 49°C is often 60–75°F (33–42°C).

    • Choose a unit that delivers your target GPM at winter ΔT, not just summer.

Example: Shower (2.0) + sink (1.0) = 3.0 GPM at 70°F ΔT → select a model rated ≥ 3.0 GPM at that ΔT.

  1. In-Home Assessment & Options
We confirm GPM/ΔT sizing, gas or electrical capacity, vent route, condensate drain, and recirculation needs.

  2. Permits & Preparation
We handle permits (where required), schedule the job, and protect work areas.

  3. Professional Installation

    • Gas line sizing (often ¾″–1″), regulator checks, or dedicated electric circuits (for electric tankless)

    • Direct/concentric venting (condensing uses PVC/PP; non-condensing typically Category III stainless)

    • Condensate neutralizer & drain/pump (condensing models)

    • Service/Isolation valves and flush ports for easy maintenance

    • Mixing valve (recommended) and code-compliant discharge routing

  4. Startup, Commissioning & Training
Combustion/electrical checks, temperature calibration, fixture tests at flow, app setup (if applicable), and owner walkthrough.

  5. Registration, Rebates & Warranty
We register the unit, submit eligible incentives, and provide all documentation.

  • Condensing Gas Tankless (Best efficiency)
Highest UEF, cooler exhaust (PVC/PP vent), requires condensate neutralizer; ideal for whole-home use.

  • Non-Condensing Gas Tankless (Value)
Lower upfront cost; stainless venting; slightly lower efficiency.

  • Electric Tankless
Compact; may require significant electrical capacity—best for point-of-use or specific scenarios.

  • Built-In Recirculation / Buffer Tank
Reduces “cold-water sandwich,” speeds hot-water delivery, and can pair with a return line or crossover valve.

  • Dedicated return loop (best performance)

  • Crossover valve at a distant fixture (no return line required)

  • Demand-controlled pumps (button or motion-sensor) for efficiency
We’ll recommend the right option based on plumbing layout and water-saving goals.

GTA water can form scale that reduces flow and efficiency. We include service valves and recommend:

  • Annual descaling/flush (more often in very hard water)

  • Inlet screens cleaning and flow-sensor service

  • Optional scale-reduction cartridge or softener for long heat-exchanger life

  • Good: Non-condensing tankless, isolation valves, stainless vent

    • For: Budget upgrades, smaller households

  • Better: Condensing tankless (UEF ~0.95–0.96), concentric vent, condensate neutralizer

    • For: Most detached homes; strong efficiency and comfort

  • Best: Premium condensing (UEF ~0.97–0.98) with built-in recirc + buffer, Wi-Fi/app controls, scale-control accessory

    • For: Maximum comfort, fast hot water to distant taps, lowest operating cost

(Model availability varies; we quote multiple options.)

  • We identify manufacturer, utility, and government incentives for high-efficiency or heat-pump-adjacent programs and handle the paperwork.

  • Financing available (on approved credit) to keep upfront costs low.

  • Prefer no ownership? See Water Heater Rentals for $0-down options.

  1. Area protection & old unit removal

  2. Gas/electrical and vent/condensate work to code

  3. Service valves and mixing valve setup; leak and pressure tests

  4. Commissioning under realistic flows; temperature verification at fixtures

  5. Owner orientation, cleanup, warranty & rebate documents provided

  • Annual descaling/flush (hard water may need more)

  • Clean inlet screens and verify flow sensors

  • Test condensate operation and neutralizer media (condensing)

  • Check recirc settings/timers to balance comfort and efficiency

Can a tankless run two showers at once?
Yes—if it’s sized for your winter ΔT. We select a model that delivers your required GPM at the coldest inlet temps.

Do I need a larger gas line?
Often. Many whole-home units need ¾″–1″ gas supply and proper regulator capacity. We verify and include upgrades in your quote.

Can I vent through my old chimney?
Usually no. Tankless systems use direct/concentric venting per manufacturer specs; we route a safe, code-compliant vent.

Will I get hot water instantly?
Heat is instant at the unit, but water still travels the pipe. Recirculation options provide near-instant delivery to distant taps.

Is electric tankless a good idea?
Sometimes—for point-of-use or specific homes with ample panel capacity. We’ll compare whole-home electrical requirements vs. gas.

What maintenance is required?
Annual descaling, screen cleaning, and checks of sensors/condensate. We include service valves to make it quick and clean.

Keep it running like new
